Coffee Hour Featuring Director & Head Coach California Olympic Regional Training Center Kerry McCoy ’97

Nittany Lion wrestling fans and Penn Staters everywhere won’t want to miss our Oct. 21 at 9AM for Coffee Hour. Alumni Association CEO Paul Clifford ’20g will be joined by Kerry McCoy ’97, Penn State wrestling great and the Director & Head Coach of the California Olympic Regional Training Center. Kerry was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni by Penn State in 2018. He will discuss his experiences as a two-time olympic athlete, his roles as a leader in the wrestling world, memories of Penn State, and much more.

Kerry McCoy is a two-time US Olympian, 2008 Olympic Coach and two-time National Champion. He was the Head Wrestling coach at the University of Maryland and Stanford University, as well as an assistant coach at Lehigh and Penn State.

Kerry serves as the Vice President of the Black Wrestling Association as well as Secretary of USA Wrestling’s Board of Directors. He has also served on both the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee and USA Wrestling’s Athlete Advisory Committee.

He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2014 and recognized as a Penn State University Distinguished Alumni in 2018.

Kerry currently lives in Palo Alto, California, with his wife, Abbie, and their children, Gabriel and Amelia.
