ARL’s efforts support national security, economic competitiveness, and quality of life through education, scientific discovery, technology demonstration, and transition to application. As the largest research unit at Penn State, ARL continues to do vital work for the world at large through cutting-edge research and innovation. Join ARL Executive Director Allan Sonsteby for ARL Uncloaked, as he reveals fascinating stories from ARL’s 75 year history. From a snowy winter’s night to today’s latest tech, learn how ARL grew into one of the country’s most respected University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs). Allan Sonsteby, an accomplished leader with more than 30 years’ experience in research and development, research management, and federal acquisition in academic, industrial and government environments was selected as the 7th Executive Director of Penn State’s Applied Research Laboratory on December 1st, 2019.
